“6 Elementos” was created from found materials. Physical elements were recovered from the deposits of the University of Porto, the sonic from databases and our archives. These were the starting point for a creative process that involved the occupation of the exhibition room at the Rectory of the University of Porto, and the development of an open construction work during which the piece was shaped by the context, by random events, coincidences, and articulations. The outcome is a body that expands along the room and from where sound radiates, resonating with the space. These structures are the foundations of a network of matter, events, and rhythms that is open to exploration and interpretation.
“6 Elementos” was commissioned for the event “Space, Body, and Well-Being”. General commissioner João Paulo Vilas-Boas, curated by José Carlos de Paiva and Luís Pinto Nunes. Thanks to Constança Babo and Patrícia Viana Almeida.
