Wonderful performance by Ann Arbor based Orpheum Bell. They remind me of Beirut a little bit, spiraling French/Russian dirges with a tinge of Americana flavoring the atheistic. It was a packed house at Grounds For Thought, an excellent local coffeeshop that transforms into a concert venue once a month or so.
This is my first real video test of the Panasonic GF-1, and its size is the main reason I was even able to get this footage. It's small enough to throw in my messenger bag and forgot about it until there is something fun to shoot.
Video was shot handheld with a hacked GF1 that allows for a higher bitrate AVCHD file, lens is the incredible Panasonic f/1.7 20mm.
Footage could have been brighter, but I am still learning how to shoot video full manual and I think I had the aperture stopped down. Autofocus also goes a little crazy in spots, but that was my fault, I half-pressing the shutter to refocus when I didn't need to.
Imported using Log and Transfer into Final Cut Pro 7, for titling and some slight color grading and then exported to x264 via Compressor.
A CLOUD CITY COLLECTIVE production.
