My first video post on slrdwrds.shiftfocus.ca.
This is a quick overview on bypassing the built-in microphones of the Zoom H4n so that you can track 4 external channels simultaneously using the 3.5mm TRS jack underneath the built-in microphone module.
The audio you're hearing was all tracked on the H4n. At first you're hearing the sound from the XLR inputs, but as soon as I insert the 3.5mm TRS jack into the unit you're hearing the signal on the "built-in microphones" channel.
The POV cam didn't work out perfectly and I will make an effort to do some closeups next time.
Hope it helps someone out!
PS - In case anyone wants one of the cables made, it was Darren at slygoosecables.com who made it exactingly to my not-so-exact requirements. I wasn't paid by him to promote his product or company, I'm just a happy customer. You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/slygooseh4n (select the Switchcraft if you want the longest-lasting option.)
