We designed a project that would appropriate basketball in the digital medium for Ülker Metro’s brand new product "Metro Kingsize" which was especially put on the market for 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championship.
The idea was a quiz game about basketball which ‘Turkey National Basketball Team’s guard, Ömer Onan would play the leading role. In the game, users were able to have a one-on-one match with Turkey's favorite guard Ömer Onan. To score a basket, users had to give correct answers to basketball related questions. Each correct answer was a move towards the basket. In order to create a perfect match ambiance we filmed Ömer Onan playing basketball using ultra slow-motion cameras. Also Turkey’s famous basketball commentators Murat Kosova and Kaan Kural narrated the match. In the end we had a game that basketball fans wouldn’t miss and would be able to challenge Ömer Onan!
There was a dense participation in the game. Microsite had 350.00 visits. The game was played 370.000 times and average time spent on the game was near 15 minutes!
