Houston, TX - January 2011 marks the first time in our nation’s history that hospitals and eligible healthcare providers can register their intent to achieve “meaningful use” of certified electronic health records (EHRs) and qualify for incentive payments under the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Beginning this month, eligible health care professionals, hospitals, and critical access hospitals may register to participate in the EHR incentive programs. Organizations and professionals around the country who anticipate meeting meaningful use requirements during Stage 1 of the program will be taking part in Nationwide EHR Incentive Program Registration events on January 13 to demonstrate their commitment to improving quality healthcare for all patients.
