"Other Music To Dance To" emerges from the life and work of Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya. In 1938 her father was killed during the Stalinist purges and her mother was sent to a labor camp for 3 years. In 1960 Maya Plisetskaya became prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet. Plisetskaya was known for the fluidity and control of her arms.
