In fall, 2010, Brown University students in AMCV2652: Community Documentary and Storytelling, produced Speaking of Wickenden, a cell phone audio tour that shares stories of Fox Point, past and present, in the voices of people who have watched Wickenden Street change over time. At twelve stops along Wickenden Street, listeners can hear Fox Pointers’ stories about living and working in the neighborhood. Drawing from more than 30 interviews, the many voices featured in Speaking of Wickenden present a multifaceted history that examines different ways events were experienced and are remembered. This video combines the audio from the tour with photographs of the Fox Point neighborhood. The slide show was created by Erin Boyle, an M.A. student in the public humanities program at Brown University.
