The Blue Hive 2010 agency Christmas card.
We invited people to tweet their messages of Christmas goodwill, then our specially commissioned artist Lizzie Mary Cullen, hand-lettered and illustrated these messages onto our ‘doodle wall’ – a 12m by 3m space in our office.
People could see Lizzie drawing their greetings live, via a webcam. We also photographed every message, uploaded it to Flickr and tweeted a link back to their doodle so they could comment and share with friends and family
Through the power of twitter and online word of mouth, the idea quickly gained momentum. And in just 3 days, we received no less than 5,905 unique visits to our website – a massive 632% increase in traffic.
With our agency card we combined seasonal tradition with contemporary technology. And beautiful analog art with state-of-the art digital communication.
