LEGROOM Workshop and Performance with the Creative Consultants - Manchester Art Gallery - october 2016.
WE ARE MAKING is a workshop facilitated by LEGROOM inviting the Creative Consultants to become part of their ever shifting experimental movement company.
'What's going on?' is a series of actions, situations and gestures that create an alternative gallery interaction of site specific interventions devised by these young creatives and performed across the gallery space in reaction to themes and ideas within the vibrant and relevant Boris Nzebo exhibition, which questions conflicting urban values.
LEGROOM are a creative research project, a facilitator and creative producer founded by Franco-British duo and Manchester based artists Juliet Davis and Amy Lawrence. LEGROOM use workshop frameworks and process-based methods to investigate how a specific group of people inhabit a specific space and their experience of the ‘everyday’ resulting in physical situations in varied locations that playfully break down any boundaries between audience and performer and give everybody the opportunity to feel the thrill of performing in varied ways.
Special thanks to all the young participants:
Maya Bewley, Megan Chen, Kitty Coley, Eve-Marie Connolly, Mae Connolly, Katy Hardman, Larissa Loy, Bethany McAulay, Deshna Shah, Ruby Taylor
and to Manchester Art Gallery's Carly Bainbridge, Kate Dunstone and Ruth Edson.
