There are always issues you would rather not talk about. And these are in particular the themes dance maker Marie Goeminne is fascinated about. While we are increasingly focused on life, nature maintains its eternal impulse of creation and destruction. In the performance Have I Been Here Before by Marie Goeminne, the night brings the day and exhaling comes after inhaling. Together with three dancers, Marie ventures a dance around the theme of death.
What do we fundamentally think about? And why is death a poor subject between us? Don't expect any over-emotional story; Marie and her dancers Maaike van de Westeringh, Anne-May de Lijser en Zoé Leduc, aim to catch the fear of the unknown and the intimacy of death in a dynamic, abstract and spatial image.
