Leta Sobierajski’s ambitious creative practice has intrigued us long before we hired her to design our own website (eyeondesign.aiga.org). A self-described “total control freak,” whatever Sobierajski didn’t learn in design school she’s taught herself in order to create work that would normally require a whole team. It’s why she often appears as the model in her colorful photo shoots, and why her portfolio includes such a broad range of projects for a designer so young—she doesn’t turn down exciting work even if she doesn’t quite know how she’ll do it. Now the unstoppable one-woman show has moved into a proper studio space, and is adding some design partners to the mix.
This video is part of Where Designers Work, an ongoing series that meets designers in their studios to see how they create a space that lets them do their best work. We’ve visited a wide range of studios in Berlin, London, and all over the U.S. to speak with designers at small, two-person outfits to some of the biggest agencies and design offices in the world. And if we’ve learned anything so far it’s that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
