Patrick K.-H. / Oleg Makarov "Room Sketch № 1" drawn sound spatial performance in Moscow, Pravda 24 studio, 14|12|10 ev.
Media artists Patrick K.-H. and Oleg Makarov research in depth of basic media-archeology, working with drawn sound of 1920, text-sound composition, sound installation, room pieces approach and algorithmic composition. Generally, they define interactivity as an axis for all and every media and data involved into a piece, in order to handle appeared meanings towards this axis.
Interaction of Room sketch #1 performance is holding between live painting and voice material of John Cage, “master of all arts”, key-figure for many origins of contemporary art and intermedia. A big list of white paper is situated on the floor, performers are drawing and moving black objects at it. Transmitted by a camera to Max/MSP/Jitter special patch, each parameter of drawing (object / dot size, speed of movement, position, number of objects / drawings) produce a certain sonic reaction (sample on / off, volume, pan, granulizing, pitch, processing depth) of 8-channel audio-sculpture. We make an autonomic system of body / picture creates it’s continuation in ambience by live sonic architecture. Coming out of it, drawing / performer’s moving along with processed spoken word combines into artificial semi-live structure with non-localized mind. Performance has been presented at:
