Denver, CO - On November 28th, 2016, Denver Police and Public Works forcibly moved-along people without housing. The police were enforcing a code which states that "public streets, alleys, sidewalks, and other public spaces must remain free from all unauthorized encumbrances and obstructions." On top of that code, they were also enforcing the Unauthorized Urban Camping Ban which states that no one can rest or sleep on public or private property with anything under or over themselves except the clothing on their bodies.
Two people, Randy and Jerry, were cited with Unauthorized Urban Camping Ban tickets and their tents and one sleeping bag were confiscated as evidence for violating the camping ban.
