IN-IS is working on a musical interpretation of Picasso’s portrait Bibi-La-Purée, painted in Paris in 1901 when Picasso was twenty. The composition/performance will be for six live string players, some live electronics and a small Indian harmonium. The energy, vibrancy, sadness and flamboyancy of Picasso’s Bibi-La-Purée will be explored in the musical composition.
