The 2016 Volcano Marathon took place near Lascar Volcano in the Atacama Desert, Chile. Luke Wigman (GBR) won the men's race in a time of 4:38:37 hrs with Andrea Lopez (CHL) taking the women's title in 5:13:48 hrs. The 42.195 km trail race is the highest desert marathon in the world.
