A music video I made for the song titled "Yumegiwa Last Boy" by Japanese band SuperCar.
Shot on black and white 16mm in a day, starring Tom Carey. The original song is part of the soundtrack for the movie "PingPong" (2002) directed by Fumihiko Sori.
The video is not about anything in particular: there is a boy, and he is dreaming. I stole a few things I've seen and liked in other music videos, such as the stop-motion animation within a photograph, which produces the illusion of a moving image inside a photogragh, seen in the music video for "Toxic Girl" by Kings of Convenience. The same technique is later popularized through a viral promotional video for Olympus called "The PEN story" youtube.com/watch?v=m9Et7UQh1tg. But I like the subtlety of "Toxic Girl" a lot more: youtube.com/watch?v=_9UauaXTXUI
