HOUSE is a piece that was conceptualised, developed and rehearsed in it’s totality, in the dining room of a Dutch apartment. It sources itself from the frictions and the dislocations that this juxtaposition proposes (the ones of creating theatrical content in a space with specific restrictions and meaning). HOUSE is a dialogue between fiction, reality and a navigation through different hyperrealities existing between these fields.
The piece is constantly building, deconstructing and reconstructing playgrounds (real and imaginary ones). The performers continuously transform the perception of the actual by manipulating virtual contents.
A space of in-betweenness and the possibility of becoming: Lester & Niki create an arena were the existent and inexistent are acknowledged and embodied in a constant flickering. Music, voice and movement, constructing a scenario of the unexpected.
Lester & Niki stretch the malleability of meaning through sound and presence; in a very tactile space where there is nothing to touch, in a visual landscape where there is nothing to see.
