POLARIS

POLARIS is a large-scale art installation which researches our emotional response to music. Twenty participants in the audience volunteered to wear biosensors measuring their brainwaves, heart rate variability and galvanic skins response. These readings are interpreted using the Circumplex Model to indicate collective emotion, after which they are translated in real-time into light animations on the twelve meter diameter circular object. This process immerses the audience in their materialised collective emotional experience and allows them to co-creates the piece together with the artists.
