Merging dance with documentary film, ‘Cléopâtre’ illuminates the similarities between sex workers and contemporary dancers in Montreal and Berlin. Inside the historic strip club/cabaret of the same name, Gerard and Andréane honour all those who make a living with their body. Premiere: Montreal, Spring 2019.

'Cléopâtre' has received support from Fabrik Potsdam, Germany, where Gerard was recently artist-in-residence. Additional support : Le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Canada Council for the Arts and La Société des auteurs et compositeurs dramatiques (SACD). Residencies : M.A.I., Par B.L.eux, Département de danse UQAM, Tanzhaus Zürich and Tanzfabrik Berlin.
Gerard Reyes is a choreographer, dancer and teacher based in Montreal, Canada. His live dance works have been presented in theatres, galleries and clubs throughout Europe and North America. His first solo work, The Principle of Pleasure, uses stripping and voguing to explore the opportunities for shared pleasure in dismantling social conventions. In 2017 Gerard established a ballroom scene for LGBTQ Montrealers through teaching weekly vogue classes and organizing kiki balls. He has worked for many choreographers, including Marie Chouinard, Bill T. Jones, Jérôme Bel, Benoît Lachambre and Luther Brown.
