Stephin Merritt, noted for his vast body of work and songs filled with wit and wordplay, tackles his own personal experiences for the first time in the forthcoming album 50 Song Memoir, which includes a song from each year of his life. The BBC caught up with him and his band, The Magnetic Fields, as they rehearsed and then premiered all 50 songs over 2 nights at Mass MoCA, one of the largest centers for contemporary art in the world.
