The Sustainable Transport Award is given annually to a city that demonstrates leadership, vision, and achievement in sustainable transport and urban livability. Over the past year, Santiago made major improvements in pedestrian space, cycling, and public transit. Santiago will recieve the Award at a ceremony in Washington, DC in January, and will be the site of MOBILIZE2017 (mobilizesummit.org), ITDP’s annual Sustainable Transport Summit. Take a great spin thru Santiago's streets as former mayor Carolina Tohá (2012-2016) talks about the stunning transformations their city corridors have undergone.
