Dozens of families are lighting their Christmas trees for the first time, all thanks to a generous donation to the residents of Kalihi Valley Homes.

Christmas came a week early for these keiki.

Santa's Elves delivered $5,000 worth of Christmas trees to residents living in Kalihi Valley Homes.

"Some people they don't have no money to buy their Christmas tree," said Gogo Ui, a visitor to Kalihi Valley Homes.

Philanthropist and owner of Hildgund Jewelers Bruce Bucky donates Christmas trees to needy families each year.

"And this year its Kalihi Valley Homes last year was Palama Settlement 2006 was Palolo Valley

At Habilitat Hawaii, a long term substance abuse program we know we can’t keep it unless we give it away.
