On a fall night in New York City, Jasmine Dreame Wagner, Sondra Sun-Odeon, and Charlie Rauh performed "Rings," a multidisciplinary sound-music-poetry performance based on Wagner's poetry collection of the same title, at The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church. After the performance, the three artists convened again to capture the original impulse of the collaboration. Using Wagner’s long poem as a score, Sun-Odeon and Rauh improvise melody and rhythm through Wagner’s narration. "After the Airforce," a short film featuring a recording of the first piece in the sequence, melds Wagner’s moving images captured with reclaimed equipment with her poetry as Sun-Odeon and Rauh's haunting soundtrack darkens and grows sweet.
"After the Airforce" first appeared as a poem in Wagner's poetry collection Rings (Kelsey Street Press), chapbook Rewilding (Ahsahta Press), and in Verse magazine.
