Design Indaba has commissioned 6 South African filmmakers to produce short films for the 2011 event.
The competition was stiff, and the top filmmakers were chosen based on their creativity, technical prowess, and story-telling ability.
Alasdair McCulloch produced a gritty and textured video on Cape Town-based Daniel Ting-Chong, who is a talented graphic designer.
Once complete, Alasdair said, "My video team consisted of Barret De Kock (DOP), Hisham Samie (Logistics), Daniel Thackwray (Boom), myself - Alasdair McCulloch (Director/Editor) and Morné Marais (Post Sound/Music). The video was shot on the Canon 7D DSLR camera with a separate sound recorder."
I found Daniel Ting-Chong to be the most approachable and down-to-earth guy. He not only gave his time, but gave his own creative input. I was quick to learn that Cape Town's young graphic design scene is alive and kicking!"
