The Easter story is an epic and turbulent journey from the waiving of palm branches and shouts of "Hosanna in the Highest" on Palm Sunday, to the pain and suffering through crucifixion on Good Friday, to the anxiety and in-between of Holy Saturday, and finally the joy and power of Resurrection Sunday. This story also displays the eternal/supernatural world breaking in to the natural/physical world on Easter morning....The name "thin places" is a Celtic metaphor used to describe the veil between this world and the eternal world as being "tissue thin."
Thin Places Easter is an eclectic and creative show that tells this story with a myriad of unique instruments, musical styles and art forms. Instruments include: hammer dulcimer, lap dulcimer, bagpipes, strings, accordion, banjo, guitar, piano, bass, drums and percussion. The arrangements include a mix of instrumental and vocals.
Thin Places LOVE is the social justice arm of the show that seeks to create a "thin place" through the act & art of LOVE. The mission is simple: LOVE ORPHANS + HATE TRAFFIC. For Thin Places Easter - the focus is to HATE TRAFFIC, and bring awareness to the fight against child-sex trafficking that is a massive issue both in the United Sates and across the globe. Proceeds from Thin Places LOVE t-shirt sales, as well as LIVE PAINTING and prints for sale, merch. sales will be channeled to a non-profit organization fighting human trafficking.
The show is produced by Thin Places Productions and has been created in response to the Thin Places Christmas show in it's third year of production. Music is written and arranged by Garrett Viggers & Seth Carlson.
