Bonnie takes you on a stroll down memory lane with special guest and former Long Island resident Sharon Sultan Cutler, the creator and co-author of "Bandstand Diaries: The Philadelphia Years 1956 – 1964", a comprehensive book about Dick Clark's American Bandstand TV show. BandstandDiaries.com.
Bonnie and Sharon share memories of "running home from school" to watch Bandstand so they could catch a glimpse of "the regulars" – dancers Arlene Sullivan and Kenny Rossi, Bob Clayton and Justine Carrelli, Frani, Pat, Big Ro, Little Ro, Carmen, Carole and dozens of other teens who gained instant fame on TV's first "reality show."
Bandstand brought rock 'n' roll into millions of American living rooms (a trend that frightened up-tight 1950's parents and teachers) with in-studio performances by South Philly singers including Bobby Rydell {who wrote the book's Introduction), Fabian, and Frankie Avalon.
