“Every time I came home - I was at times frustrated - but then just seeing your face and that little smile or eye contact you gave me, my heart just went BOOM and I was proud that this lady is the one I married and the love of my life.” - Abdul
In this heartfelt conversation, Ashma and Abdul, the parents of two children talk about Ashma’s breast cancer, family, fear, struggle and the ability to maintain love and hope throughout a “journey has in fact been very short” in retrospect.
Being a physician, Abdul experienced various emotions when his wife was diagnosed – from frustration to extreme pride in the “strong-willed woman” he chose to marry. Meanwhile, Ashma reconnected with her religious side and learned that “if it’s a problem, remove it from your life.”
