I'm Roya Ramezani and this is my submission for the Student Design Challenge at Interaction17.
When I started working in Silicon Valley, I was surprised to see how quiet women were in meetings and when they did speak up, they were more likely to sound self-effacing. Being aware of what we say and how we say it is the first step to successful communication. That’s why I spent a year working on exponent: ann app along with a smart ring and keyboard that enables women in tech to track, analyze, and improve their speaking habits. Getting a message straight between any two people can be challenging, and in companies, communication might involve multiple people within teams, each with their own comprehension level. As I think about “every day magic”, it’s very important to me that I think about verbal interactions which is something we do on a daily basis and the chances for confusion, misunderstanding and frustration are high and it can be improved.
