Sweet32 speaker installation: random tones mode.
A video cannot really do this sound installation justice compared to experiencing it in person, but this provides some idea. The piece is called "The Sweet32 Speaker Interrupter-Switcher Installation Thing (Ceci n'est pas la haute-fidélité)".
I built it in stages, making changes over a couple of years, but it was first ready in December 2012.
This video was recorded during its installation at OBORO gallery in Montreal (June 2016). Mathieu Bélanger recorded the audio. Unfortunately, I could not shoot it straight on, since the microphone stand was in the best spot.
Maryse Latulippe helped do the post-synchronisation of sound and video, then I extracted a short excerpt to post here on vimeo.
