We live in an essentially analog world that holds an infinite amount of colors, sounds, smells, touches, flavors, which I am certain that the discernible and finite digital universe will never be able to convey.
In a contradictory manner of sorts, this is how I feel about Photography, I accept both sides, analog and digital, yet the “unexpected” that is engrained in the analog kind, is what I have always appreciated and still appreciate now even more. To be living without knowing for certain, to be trying to improve, to be able to focus on my subject unobstructed, to be able to study and shape my picture beforehand… achieving control through experience and the practice of repetition, yet always feeling the agony of a potential fault.
The surprise, the randomness, the innocence that is hidden in the emulsion of the film. This dark analog box which never screams, but rather whispers…
…don’t wake me up …I’m dreaming…
…the dream I never saw…but felt.
The photographs of this Exhibition emerged from a Lomographic Photography seminar organized by Mikro Polytexneio Art seminar multiplex under the supervision of photography professor Giannis Voulgarakis and with the support of LOMOGRAPHY GREECE.
21 photographers experimented in the mystical world of lomographic photography.
