An exhibition catalogue featuring a typographic slipcase of pastillage (shaped sugar) and wafer paper sheets printed with vegetable ink. Created for the Design Criminals exhibition at the Vienna MAK in September 2010. The Consumable Book overthrows the usual function of a catalogue, but supports the exhibition's subversive theme: the perishable and sweet-tasting book invites visitors to participate in its destruction.
Some of the books were created on site at the MAK with visitor involvement. Visitors to an evening event were invited to eat the printed wafer pages and pastillage ornaments - which they did, with relish!
The 4m x 4m exhibition title was also solely manufactured and installed using icing sugar and pastillage.
