If you are not running towards then are you running from something instead?
Since I moved to West Sussex a couple of years ago I have wanted to shoot a film here. The landscapes are vast and inspiring.
The locations were perfect to illustrate the solitude of the runner.
The Sony Walkman and the Orwellian style verse are a throwback to a world divided by an Iron curtain. There is similarity with what’s going on in the world today. Imagining our 21st century “friendly” technology in the hands of a secret police is a chilling thought. We give away more information about ourselves than in any time in history. I hope the guardians of this information respect our privacy and freedom.
It came at a heavy price. It’s worth protecting…

Maintain a pace of 13 kilometers per hour.
Clear your mind. Your clarity of thought is essential.
Soon your tendons will ache, and the road before you will dissipate into a crimson haze.
We are named TOWARDS, because we guide the weak, listless, vain and the despondent.
We find a scrap of strength in their wretched bodies. We take them TOWARDS a better place, a better life.
Any deviation from the set pace for any reason will not be tolerated.
