Rotifera is a short documentary about rotifers, a group of planctic metazoans. It gives insight into their lives showing aspects like anatomy, diversity among species and reproduction.
The film was my bachelor's thesis which I did in the research group "Sytematics and evolutionary biology" at the University of Oldenburg. (molekularesystematik.uni-oldenburg.de/en/)
Most of it was shot on a 5D MkII mounted on a Leica DMLB microscope. Additional footage from a Panasonic HDC-SD100 and a Pentax K10D (some of the timelapses).
This was the first time for me doing video (instead of still and timelapse photography), so have mercy ;)
