Microphotography of possible subterranean mite and rootknot nematode UPDATED!
Lab Report: The nematologist said that the nematode pictured is not a root knot, but an oligochaete. This would not be pathogenic or of any consequence—merely something there feeding on decaying matter. The entomologist said the mite is a scavenger mite. This would also be merely feeding on things other than root tissue.
