Christian Awe - Waste your Time
Christian Awe works with an unusual mix of materials. For example, he uses spray paint, acrylic and PVC as the basis for his large-format canvases. The artist sprays and paints them layer by layer until they are flooded with colour and create a strong, energetic effect. One of Christian Awe's central themes is sport. He himself played professional streetball for years as a teenager.
Figures that testify to agility and a certain rhythm become visible by scraping off the upper layer of paint and thus the lower layer stands out. He is also involved in residential projects and spent three months designing the façade of a building in Lichtenberg. Children can also make contributions and the best creations will be worked on by Awe. Originally Christian Awe comes from the street art scene, he has left messages to all social classes with pictures on facades and now combines the "spray technique" with painting and drawing.
