The Community Challenge Fund helps the poorest communities of the Dominican Republic with their basic needs. The Fund provides grants for community-based projects such as water, electricity, educational facilities, sanitation and health. Grants of up to $2,500 are provided to pay for project materials while Dominican families contribute labor to build the improvements. On-site Peace Corps Volunteers help plan, coordinate and monitor projects, as well as account for project funds.
This video explores some of those projects. For more information visit http://home.comcast.net/~johnepler/Action_Page.htm
