A conceptual title sequence for my conceptual film "The Metropolitan. Its the first project for my Advanced AfterEffects class with Frank Collins. For this project I collaborated with my friend and classmate, illustrator Anneka Goss. I wanted to do something with a little bit of a James Bond tinge? Something a little bit sexy, a little bit interesting, and a little bit badass. If only I included more guns and hot ladies dancing.
I imagined this with the intention for transitions as a title sequence in the beginning and end. So the beginning would transition from a nightsky scene, the end into a tire of a vehicle.
There was a heavy influence of Detroit in this piece. From the tire concept, the illustrations, and theme, as well as color. Each color is sampled from Whistler's "Nocturne in black and gold; the falling rocket" which is hanging at the DIA only a few feet away from me.
For my first AE project this semester, I'm pretty proud of it :)
