Dive is a site-specific performance especially made for swimming halls. It seamlessly mixes together aerial rope acrobatics and underwater movement. The performance is a powerful vision of actions and objects surrounded by changing elements, affected by gravity and water’s pressure and buoyancy.
Dive is performed in a swimming hall, where spectators can watch it either swimming, floating on an air mattress, or on the dry ground. The spectator makes the choice whether to watch the performer underwater, or an underwater video reflected on the walls and ceiling of the swimming hall. The video differs excitingly from the physical underwater action – the video mixes together edited and real-time material of the diving.
In the performance the worlds above and under the surface unite not only visually, but also through its soundscape . The sound design of Dive is emphasized on the various sounds of water, splashing, bubbling and waving.
