“NONDO (Endangered)”: Neil Feather invented the instrument the NONDO around 1979 or earlier. It consists of a sheet of iron bent by the tension of piano wire running across its concave surface in 2 parallel lines. One way of playing it is to roll a piece of cylindrical metal along the strings & to strike this cylinder & the strings themselves. m(usic(ian’s))m(eeting) 74, December 25, 2016, focused on a history of the NONDO stretching from 1979 to 2016 with an emphasis on recordings of it in my collection, Neil’s & my playing of it, & the groups The Big If, Something that Dissolves the Shadow of Something that was next to Something that Combusted Twice. Once, The ‘Official” Project, & THUS. This is the 3rd edit of the material, the edit that’s been reduced to only :02, :03, :05, & :07 shots for the purpose of ultimately being part of a projected score.
