This is our entry to an international art project for peace, organised by some lovely creative people in Belgium. This video is one of many that will be broadcast at an event in Brussels on 22 January 2017 to highlight the cause of conscientious objection to war. Writers Elvis Peeters and Dick van der Harst wrote the original song "Say No!" and this is our interpretation, one of over 30 submitted tracks. More info on the project: sayno.be - tickets for the live event at Kaaitheater, Brussels: kaaitheater.be/nl/agenda/say-no
Music: Andy Brain (vocals, beatboxing, synthesizers, chimes) and Caroline Vile (clarinet)
Video: Andy Brain, Gareth Monger, Jessica Monger, Caroline Vile
The rationale for the sandcastle was, mainly, that I wanted a simple striking image. Something "soft" that gains in strength over time, despite (or because of) violence. If we had more filming time on the day, perhaps we could have built a more complex castle (with more features). But, I think the dramatic point is made.
