“Migrations and minorities in France today” was the subject of INED’s “Rencontres de la Démo” mini-conference of 15 December 2016.
Michel Guillot (University of Pennsylvania/INED) explains that immigrants’ health in France is, on average, better than natives’ health, at least that of adults. This is due in part to the fact that the emigrant population is not representative of the countries emigrants leave; it is instead a “selected” group, relatively “robust”. However, it is important not to neglect the points of vulnerability specific to immigrant populations.
