I shot this with a Sony HC9 HDV camcorder, at sunset last August. I used a Sony DH1758 telextender with 1.7X. I'm pleased how well the HC9 did in dim light and with the underwater shots, despite surface glare. I used my shoulder-mount and a Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mini-mike, on a Kevlar sidearm, to eliminate camera noises. There's not many sounds, but if you listen closely, you can hear the beavers munching their food. The location was in a spring-fed pond in the Delta Ponds Preserve, in Eugene, Oregon. This is right in the heart of our town, which provides many people a wildlife viewing opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise.
I used Windows Movie Maker 6.0 to capture and edit and published it in 720p at 5.9 Mbps. Vimeo subscribers are welcome to download my upload file for personal or non-profit use. Better image quality should be seen from that, than from a direct playback here. The download button is in the lower-right corner of this page.
