The say there are strange things done beneath the midnight sun... And perhaps a quick hot air balloon trip through the crystal clear -25C skies of the Yukon isn't that strange, but it is unusual.
Some days, it really hits home just how unusual the view is out of my living room. I was sitting in my living room editing a long term time lapse project, when I noticed a couple hot air balloons flighting by the window (the first couple shots in this video are taken from my living room).
Unfortunately, I didn't know this ballooning adventure was going to happen, so by the time I grabbed my gear and set off to follow the balloons, they were already landing. But then I think the drama of the landing is better suited for a miniature world time lapse. It's just to bad the group of German balloonists were not going to be going out again.
I hope you enjoy this little tribute to the first hot air balloon flight in the Yukon in 15 years.

(sorry, the tilt-shifty-ness was done in post production, but I tried to add it in a realistic manor).
