In the 2016-17 Premier League season, NBCSN launched a new franchise highlighting elite football matches called "Premier League Sunday". The initial idea originated as a promotional campaign for the season called "Great Houses", intended to focus on the top six clubs in the elite flight (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham - and recent league winners, Leicester).
