Everybody "and their mothers" headed out onto the ice last saturday to do their best catching some fish out of the very frozen local fresh waters for the mostly annual ice-fishing-derby. My good buddy and neighbor Mike Mckee just recently finished a particularly wicked Hilton-like ice-shack for some buds on Eagle lake and has been explaining me the various nuances and what not regarding this particular kind of frozen fun. So I caught up with him and his great family (notably his Mainiac quad-driving wife Kristin) at Sommes pond with the idea of making some kind of fish film, too much fun and too may beers later, and lacking a Mike Rowe-like narrator I figured I had nothing at the end of the day, but cut some clips together over Mikes drilling a hole in the ice which took longer than you would think, for some kind of telling. and so there you are. Fish-on or not there are always lots of good times, beers, brats, edible dogs and the friendly kind of dogs, and fun to be had ice fishing in the winter in Maine. I thought that Steely Dan "Reelin in the years" would fill in the gaps nicely. have a wicked nice day, from Maine Usa.
