PLANE—SITE flew into the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport to discover more about its unique design qualities. This building, the first of its kind, was designed for sustainability and an enhanced passenger experience that places art and culture at the forefront.
To keep up with the growing demand for air travel, the airport enlisted a rare ally to help passengers feel more at ease while they travel: art. Painter Mark Bradford (U.S. representative at the 2017 Venice Art Biennale), sculptors Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues (of Ball-Nogues), and Pae White are among the artists commissioned to design custom pieces of world-class contemporary art for the unconventional venue.
