“Westside Originals” member Ralph Rocha discusses how the car club was first formed, mainly because the other existing car club “Classic Lowriders” was not taking cars made in the 1980s. Ralph became an official member after purchasing a 1984 Cadillac, and fulfilling the requirement of attending 3 meetings and 3 events. He describes getting involved in car culture since he was 16, but how he was discouraged by constantly being pulled over by cops who stereotyped him. Getting back into it as it adult, Rocha discusses how it occupies your mind in a positive manner and creates a family environment. The most satisfying part is the hunt for the pieces and the opportunity to represent your own vision and style.
