Some words from the director: "I liked the concentration of Mankell’s story, and its humor. I was challenged by the idea of portraying a lifelong relationship through one brief encounter in an apartment. I wanted to create an intimate and intrusive imagery, to show what is rarely visible in our times; the aged, the withered, that we all try to suppress. I wanted to show the beauty of experience and hardships. We remain powerful, funny, dangerous and sexy. It’s never to late to change your life. Our bodies’ age, love does not."
