In 1972, a group of eight Palestinian terrorists, members of Black September, took 9 Israeli athletes hostages and killed two in the takeover. Black September demanded that 200 Palestinian prisoners be released from Israeli jails in exchange for the safe return of the remaining hostages. They tried twice to shoot down the terrorists twice, but each time, failed miserably. This podcast shows the attempted rescue missions and their unintended effects and consequences.
