This video is an excerpt of Paris, 1938, a short work produced, written and directed by Tony Whitfield in 2015 with music by Andrew Alden. This work explores the possible intimate relationships between Herschel Grynszpan, a young Polish Jew and Ernst vom Rath a low level dignitary at the German Embassy in Paris who was also a known homosexual. Grynszpan's assassination of vom Rath in November 1938 resulted in the launch of the Nazi anti-Jewish pogroms known as Kristallnacht that killed several dozen Jews and imprisoned tens of thousands of others in concentration camps.
